Jeremy Renner Claps Back At Hawkeye Haters

It's a super exciting time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Black Panther is still kicking ass and taking names, making an outstanding amount of money at the box office. And the next installment in the shared universe is none other than Avengers: Infinity War. 10 years in the making, the Russo Brother are uniting all the characters from the shared universe for the epic showdown against Josh Brolin's Thanos and his Black Order. The trailers and posters have been slowly being released, although they're all noticeably missing Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye. Fans have been advocating for the OG Avenger's inclusion, although one recently claimed he shouldn't be included-- since the character is so disinteresting. Unfortunately for him, Jeremy Renner found that Tweet and clapped back. Check it out.

Yikes. Jeremy Renner's shade is as laser focused as Hawkeye's arrows, as he went on the defensive for his signature Marvel character. Renner has been getting a ton of attention about his character's absence from Infinity War's marketing materials, and perhaps this nasty tweet struck a chord. He certainly has reason to be miffed.

Hawkeye has had an interesting tenure on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He was one of the first characters introduced during Phase One, popping up in Thor before eventually becoming a major character in Joss Whedon's The Avengers. While he was an original member of the titular team of heroes, Hawkeye hasn't really been given his proper time to shine in the MCU. He wasn't given any solo movies or supporting role in other franchises, only appearing in large ensemble projects. We got a glimpse of his home life in Age of Ultron, but never revisited that setting or character. While he ended up rescuing Scarlet Witch to she could join Team Cap in Civil War, it was hardly a Hawkeye focused story.

Perhaps this could change in the upcoming phase of films, if Jeremy Renner is inspired to stay on contract with the studio. Black Widow seems like she's finally going to get a solo movie, which might be the perfect opportunity to bring Hawkeye back the forefront of the shared universe. They're supposed to be best friends, and Hawkeye's limited abilities would compliment Scarlett Johansson's character in her long awaited adventure.

Before that, we'll have to see exactly how much of Jeremy Renner's character ultimately ends up in Avengers: Infinity War. The Russo Brothers have teased that he's indeed in the movie, although he might have a larger role in the untitled Avengers 4 movie. Disney is keeping its cards pretty close to the chest, so it seems like just about anything could happen.
