Gal Gadot Dressed Up As Wonder Woman To Cheer Up Some Sick Kids At A Hospital

Few DC Extended Universe heroes have developed a fanbase on par with Wonder Woman. Gal Gadot arguably became an instant icon playing the role of Diana Prince when she premiered as the heroine in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the fanfare only increased with the hit release of Wonder Woman last year. Now, Gadot is hard at work on Wonder Woman 1984, but it looks like she also found enough time to take her Amazonian costume to a hospital to meet up with some sick kids. Check out the absolutely heartwarming photo of the field trip, below!

If you need a moment to process all of your emotion, that's entirely understandable. Gal Gadot has proven time and time again that she has an offscreen persona that matches her onscreen heroics, and this example is no different. That photo was taken at Inova Children's Hospital in Virginia, where Gal Gadot showed up to visit some of the kids and brighten their days.

Of course, this is far from the first instance of a celebrity using his or her profile from the comic book movie genre to cheer up some kids in the need of a lift. In fact, such acts of generosity have become fundamental for many members of the live-action superhero community, with actors like Iron Man's Robert Downey Jr., Captain America: The First Avenger's Chris Evans, and Guardians of the Galaxy 3's Chris Pratt donating some of their time to interact with fans, and bring some hope to people in need.

The reason Gal Gadot was able to visit a hospital in Virginia is that the production of Wonder Woman 1984 has brought her to the United States. Taking place decades after the events of the original movie (which the title pretty much gives away), the sequel focuses on Diana as she meets not only Barbara Minerva (played by Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig), but also comes face-to-face with Steve Trevor (Chris Pine), the man she loved who sacrificed himself back at the end of World War I. Not much else is known about Wonder Woman 1984 yet, aside from what we've been able to glean from the few photos that have been shared. That said, the knowledge that Gal Gadot is still engaging in this type of philanthropy shows us that she's still Wonder Woman incarnate.

Audiences will finally get a chance to see Gal Gadot return as Diana Prince when Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984 premieres in theaters next year on November 1, 2019.
